This scene comes from the Bible, where it is said that Commander Heliodorus, under the orders of the Syrian monarch Seleucus, was about to retrieve the treasury of the Temple of Jerusalem, which was intended for the poor and orphans, before being driven out by the angels who killed him. Thanks to the prayers of the priest, he recovered his life and went away to preach the Word of God.
